Thierry Malandain

Cinderella, composed by Sergei Prokófiev, it is simply a monument to the world of ballet, in which Malandain, a visionary author if there ever was one, will delight us by offering us his most personal view. 

Malandain will remain faithful to the original drama of Cinderella and will explore some of his most loved topics: the search for an ideal, the revealed truth, the duality that lies in us all…The result is surprising.

Fábio Lopes

Fabio a (26 years old) Portuguese dancer, has been in the Biarritz ballet company for 6 years.

His dream is to become a choreographer, therefore he works after his daily shift at the dance school of Biarritz where he teaches.

 

This year the Kaabestri chamber orchestra has offered him a challenge which he cannot turn down; to create choreography with live music interpreted by them during the anti-AIDS day.

Aureline Guillot

After a surgical intervention due to a strange anomaly in the bones of the hip, the youth and dynamic Aureline has been apart from the dance for 10 months.

 

In her last medical revision she is told that she can begin the rehabilitation so that she can start dancing soon. Aureline in spite of being motivated to 100%, is aware of the enormous effort that she has to do. 

Nathalie Verspecht

Nathalie, veteran dancer of the company is at the pinnacle of her career. Along the new creation she has been pregnant and she has had to leave one of the important roles of the new work. Her tool of work, her body, is suffering an important transformation, in spite of coming to dance every day, soon she will have to stop dancing.

Her pregnancy continues in parallel the creation of the new work. Once she has had the baby, Nathalie plans to continue her career as a dancer. 

Jean Michel Nougué

Jean Michel was born in Toulouse and is 40 years old. Jean Michel plays the viola at the ESO and lives in the South of France.

Jean Michel is a fidget who likes exploring new universes. One of his greatest pleasures is to play with his partner when he comes from the orchestra. She plays the piano while Jean Michel plays the guitar. For a few years now, he feels attracted by his spiritual side and takes part in solidarity actions- With his partner they want to play at elderly people’s homes, to make sure the get the music out there where there is no music. 

Cástor Narvarte

Cástor is one of the viola players in the Euskadi Symphonic Orchestra (ESO). Cástor was born in Chile 58 years ago into a Basque-chilenian family where music could be breathed – nephew of the well-known accordionist Antonio Navarte Sanz.

Cástor has hearing problems and each time he faces a new score, it is a double effort for him. He is afraid of having to stop playing due to his disability. With the piece Prokofiev and the experience of being able to play in Versailles, a new personal and human challenge will be experienced.  

Kaabestri

These four musicians play in the Euskadi symphonic Orchestra (ESO). Besides their job in the orchestra, these young musicians have set up a chamber quartet who cooperates with associations in charity concerts.

Kaabestri want to grow as an orchestra and merge with other artistic manifestations. This year they will cooperate with an anti-AIDS association, in which they will integrate dance in a part of his concert.

 

Arkaitz Martínez

Arkaitz (viola) married to Nanako, Japanese, cooking lover and music teacher of her two children who play the violin too. It is a polyglot family; they continuously speak in three languages (Japanese, Basque, and Spanish).
